"Reflect of Reading habits"
Looking at these images of people reading, I find myself reflecting on how my own reading habits have changed over time, especially as a bilingual reader. The types of books and texts people engage with can vary greatly depending on their purpose—some may be reading for pleasure, while others are studying or staying informed. This makes me think about my own choices when it comes to reading in my first language (Spanish) and my second language (English). One thing I’ve noticed is that my reading preferences shift depending on the language. In Spanish, I enjoy novels, essays, and opinion pieces because I feel more connected to the language and can appreciate the subtle nuances of expression. I just went through your blog, and I have to say, it's packed with engaging and creative activities! I really loved the Genially presentation; it’s super original and makes the content visually appealing and dynamic. The Edpuzzle activity was also a great choice, the topic is really engaging ‘Dating’, and I can see students enjoying it while improving their listening skills. In fact, I’ve chosen this activity to be carried out in my class. We will see the results!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with your reflection on reading habits, very similar to mine, you made some great points which I really see eye to eye. Reading for pleasure, of course ;) . The Timetoast timeline on literature is another fantastic resource, making it easier for students to connect historical context with literary works. And, of course, the websites with extra resources are incredibly useful! I’ll definitely be checking them out for my own classes.
Honestly, I know how much effort goes into designing these activities, and I really appreciate the thought and planning behind them.
Looking forward to seeing more of your work! Although, unfortunately, the course is coming to an end. 😊👏
